Common furnace problems we fix
- No heat, or the furnace won't start
- The furnace runs but the house stays cold
- Short-cycling, where it turns on and off frequently
- Ignition and flame sensor problems
- Unusual noises like banging, squealing or rattling
- Blower motor and inducer motor failures
- Error codes or flashing lights on the control board
Furnace tune-ups
An annual tune-up helps your furnace run efficiently and catches small problems before they turn into a no-heat call on the coldest night of the year. Fall is the best time to book, before the heating season is in full swing.
Repair or replace?
Most furnaces last roughly 15–20 years. Replacement is usually worth considering when your furnace is:
- Near or past that age range and needs a costly repair
- Breaking down more and more often
- Struggling to keep some rooms comfortable
- Driving up your gas bills
We'll give you an honest assessment. If a repair makes more sense, we'll tell you.
High-efficiency furnace replacement
New gas furnaces sold in Canada are high-efficiency models, which use noticeably less gas than older mid-efficiency units. We size your new furnace for your home, handle the venting and gas connections, and pull the required permits.
Safety first
Every home with a gas furnace should have working carbon monoxide detectors. If your CO alarm goes off, get everyone out of the house and call 911 or your gas utility from outside.
